StyleThe straight ladder towel rail has been a firm favourite for many years in the bathroom radiator world. The ladder name signifies the run of horizontal tubes connected by two vertical tubes (these are called collectors). “Straight” – sometimes known as flat, simply means that the horizontals bars run straight across between collectors and when looking at the towel rail from the side, it is completely flat. AccessoriesThis towel rail is provided with everything required to hang the rail on the wall - brackets & masonry fixings, chrome bleed valve and blanking plug as well as all the accessories needed for the electric functionality. The electric kit includes an electric element, liquid inhibitor and instructions, an extra blanking plug for the bottom entry that won’t have the element installed. The element can be installed on either the left or right hand side of the towel rail - whichever is better for your set up.
The Element
The Talus standard element offers simple on/off control over your radiator or towel rail. Simply install into the towel radiator and then wire this element into either a switched fused spur or one with timer capabilities for more control.
*These electric heating elements must be installed by a registered competent electrician. Any faults developed due to incorrect installation will not be covered under the product warranty. The suggested fuse size is calculated based on a 230V supply and whilst 230V is the nominal voltage given to homes in the UK, the actual voltage supply can vary. The registered competent electrician carrying out the installation will determine the appropriate size of fuse to use for the installation.
Delta (Δ) Ratings Explained
What is a Delta (Δ) Rating?
When discussing heat outputs, the Delta rating is the difference between the temperature of the water inside the heating system and the desired temperature of the room.
What does the value represent?
In simple terms, this value is about heat loss. Heating a room only works, if the radiator output exceeds the heat loss of the room.
We use this calculation to make it easy to choose a radiator that will have a heat output that exceeds the heat loss of the room when connected to your heating system type.

What Delta Rating should I use?
- Δ50 = Gas boilers before 2005 / Oil boilers before 2007.
- Δ40 = Gas boilers after 2005 / Oil boilers after 2007.
- Δ30 = Low temperature systems e.g heat pumps.

What is a Watt?
Watts are our main unit of energy/power in the UK, commonly associated with lightbulbs and Home Energy performance certificates (EPCs).
What is a BTU?
BTUs are the unit of measurement used to portray a radiators heat output and a rooms heating requirement. 1 Watt is equal to 3.41 BTUs.
Why are they important?
We buy radiators to heat our homes, right? So, we need a way of knowing if a radiator is powerful enough to heat the room that we are shopping for - Watts and BTUs provide us with a value that makes its easier to compare radiators and ultimately choose the right one for our heating requirement.
