      Vertical Column Radiators FAQs

At UK Radiators, our radiators come in a variety of finishes and colours. For finishes, we have matt, gloss and raw lacquered metal. The colours we have available are black, white, anthracite and raw metal.

The most important factor is the heat output and ensuring that it is enough for your room. The number of columns won’t impact your radiator's heating efficiency.

The reason we have options with different column numbers is so that there are more height/width options for different heat outputs (and size/type of rooms).

For example, these 3 radiators all have a similar heat output at Delta 50, but take up different wall space and projection in the room.

      2 Column 1800mm high x 372mm wide = 1046 Watts at Delta 50.

      3 Column 500mm high x 999mm wide = 1064 Watts at Delta 50.

      4 Column 300mm high x 1164mm wide = 1046 Watts at delta 50.

When it comes to choosing the size of a vertical column radiator, there are 3 things you need to consider:

      1) Heat output: The radiator’s size will affect its heat output, so you'll need to choose something that's appropriate for the size of the room it will be heating.

      2) Available wall space: How much room you have to work with will impact your decision. Vertical column radiators generally take up less functional wall space than horizontal radiators, but you'll still need to double-check you have enough room (time to grab the tape measure).

      3) Your taste and style: You'll want to choose a radiator size that complements your room’s style as well as your own tastes. Vertical column radiators are available in a wide range of sizes and designs, so you’re bound to find one that suits you.

If you're still unsure about what size radiator to get, then check out our incredibly handy BTU calculator , which will calculate your room heat loss requirements and show you radiators of a suitable size!
