      Frequently Asked Questions

Heat-wise? As long as they’re sized properly in relation to your space, vertical radiators are no better than horizontal radiators.

However, if you have a tall room, you need more of a space-saving design, or you just like the way vertical radiators look, then they’re a great option compared to other models.

Vertical radiators are only expensive to run if you’re running them 24/7 or having to crank up the flow temperature on your boiler. As long as you’ve chosen a radiator with accurate outputs that’s correctly sized for your room, they’re no more expensive than any other radiator.

How well a vertical radiator heats a large room is down to whether it’s sized correctly for the space. To know if your vertical radiator is sized correctly, you need to ensure it has a heat output that is greater than the heat loss of the space.

Here at UK Radiators, we don’t overstate our heat outputs, which means you get reliable heat every single time.

Vertical radiators typically last 10 – 20 years with proper care and maintenance. When you purchase from UK Radiators, all our models come with a warranty of up to 25 years, so you get peace of mind as well as a stunning radiator to heat your home.

As long as they’re balanced, vertical radiators don’t take longer to warm up than any other type of radiator.

If your radiator isn’t warming up, then it may need bleeding. Or the system might need to be properly balanced.

Please note - Deliveries to the Highlands and Ireland may take longer. We are unable to offer international deliveries at this time.

You can absolutely swap a horizontal radiator for a vertical one, and it’s pretty straightforward. When you’re changing any radiator, there may need to be some adjustments to the pipework.

You also may need to consider the weight of the radiator and the wall you’re planning to put it on. If you’re installing a radiator that’s heavier than the one you have currently, you need to ensure your wall can hold the weight. In this case, you’ll need to use additional supports such as radiator feet.
