Main Features:
The SALUS VS20 is a digital battery-operated room thermostat designed to precisely and efficiently control room temperature heating.
The VS20 can be set up to control heating via a scheduled time programme, at a defined temperature level or as a combination of both. Unlike most thermostats that only work by controlling the central heating boiler, the VS20 is wirelessly connected direct to local radiators fitted with SALUS Smart radiator controls (TRVs) to maintain the exact temperature in the controlled area.
The VS20 is battery operated and connects wirelessly to the heating system and other Smart Home devices meaning that installation is quick, simple and mess free.
Up to 6 radiators can be controlled by a single VS20 and as the thermostat is remote from the radiator itself, it ensures that the required room temperature is maintained and not the temperature closest to the radiator maximising efficiency. The VS20 can be configured and controlled either locally through the intuitive touch panel LCD or remotely through the app from a smartphone, tablet or PC. This means that the user can control and adjust their heating, or even just a single room or radiator, from anywhere ensuring maximum comfort and efficiency.
As part of the SALUS Smart Home range, specific user defined rules can be setup to program and control the VS20 in conjunction with actions from other devices. These could include automatically adjusting the thermostat if windows or doors are opened or turning on the lights and heating 10 minutes before the user arrives home.
When discussing heat outputs, the Delta rating is the difference between the temperature of the water inside the heating system and the desired temperature of the room.
In simple terms, this value is about heat loss. Heating a room only works, if the radiator output exceeds the heat loss of the room.
We use this calculation to make it easy to choose a radiator that will have a heat output that exceeds the heat loss of the room when connected to your heating system type.
If you don't know the room heat loss, you can use our calculator to find out.
Watts are our main unit of energy/power in the UK, commonly associated with lightbulbs and Home Energy performance certificates (EPCs).
BTUs are the unit of measurement used to portray a radiators heat output and a rooms heating requirement. 1 Watt is equal to 3.41 BTUs.
We buy radiators to heat our homes, right? So, we need a way of knowing if a radiator is powerful enough to heat the room that we are shopping for - Watts and BTUs provide us with a value that makes its easier to compare radiators and ultimately choose the right one for our heating requirement.
Our fast and easy-to-use BTU calculator can help you:

Would have given 5 stars if the integration in to how our system is configured worked easily, had to use a work round and it is now doing what I want. Underfloor heating controls needed updating, very pleased with Salus Smart controls. Once you get your head around the system I would say they are some of the best Smart controls for heating that I have come across.
